Spring Equinox inspires new beginnings and unleashes the huge surge of rapid growth. The seed (the potential) that we planted at the Winter Equinox now sprouts and grows towards its blossoming with the Summer Equinox.

Spring Equinox marks the point in space and time when the sun moves across the celestial equator from south to north. At the time of the Spring Equinox, the Sun rises exactly in the east and travels through the sky for 12 hours and sets exactly in the west.

Life is in balance. A window of clarity is open to you to explore your potential.

Weed out what you don’t want. Nurture what you do want. Plant more seeds!

Wishing you a Happy New Year

May all your dreams come true in 2012 for it promises to be a  year of transformation and change.

With the start of a new cycle following Winter Solstice and as the old year comes to an end, it is a time for new beginnings. It is a time to birth our visions, name our dreams and set our intentions for the change we desire in our lives during 2012.

Many of us make resolutions for the coming months only to find that by the end of January they have fallen by the wayside.

Be SMART with your new year resolutions, Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-Bound

Be Specific unless you know exactly what you are aiming for it will be never happen. “I will save £20 per month into a savings account” is more effective than “I will start saving this year” or “I will stop wasting money”.

Make them Measurable, note down 5 indicators you are on track with your resolution such as “I will have attended 5 swimming session each month for the next 6 months”.

Make them Achievable. Break it down into chunks, set smaller goals as stepping stones to the big vision. You are more likely to achieve than trying to eat that whole elephant in one sitting – which can be daunting (bit like the Christmas Turkey)!!! But that doesn’t mean selling yourself short either. They are stepping stones – keep the journey going.

Be Realistic. Goals and resolutions must be within your control and realistic. They must be able to be influenced by your actions, it is about your behaviour not someone else’s. You can not make a partner loose weight, take you out more, stop smoking etc.

But also goals must be realistic, set them too high then you may fail but set they too low and you will be bored and more likely to give up. Understand the difference between a dream and a vision and achieveable goal.

And set a Time Limit. “I want to redecorate the house” is not as effective as “by 6 months time I will have saved £500 so that I can redecorate the house and in 3 months time I will book the decorators!”

And one more thing, often we start the New Year with a long list of resolutions. Working on two or three at a time are more likel

Winter Solstice Blessings - Time to renew relationships

Today is the Winter Solistice for 2011, we mark the time of the shortest day and longest night. Today the cosmic wheel stops and begins again with a new cycle moving once again towards increasing light and warmth. 

Today is the time to shine a light on the relationships in your life. Winter Solstice and the Christmas festivities is a perfect opportunity to come out of hibernation and be loving, sharing and socialable. Now time to renew bonds and connections and celebrate the joy of each other, celebrate the joy of life and the beginning of a new cycle with all its wonderful possibilities.

May Light and Happiness fill your life as the great cosmic wheel enters into a new cycle.

Winter Solstice Blessings and Festive Season Wishes to you all.

A time to explore the power of potential and a time to leave behind what is no longer helping you.

The 1st May under the ancient traditions of following the Seasonal Cycle of the Earth is Beltane, marking the midpoint in the Sun’s progress between the spring equinox and summer solstice. It celebrates the Fertility of the Earth and potency of Life Force and Potential.

Traditionally it was the start of the ‘Merry Months’ where folks would dress in green in recognition and honour of the Earth’s new colour, also as time to communicate with natural spirits.

But also it was the time to light the Tein-eigin or ‘Need Fire’, a sacred fire that was lit after all others were put out. The Community would then jump the fire to bring to them and their village FERTILITY, HEALING, TRANSFORMATION as well as a time for honouring unions between friends, couples.

This is a time especially potent for healing.

The green of the earth vibrates with that of the ‘Heart Chakra’ and with love. It is time to honour the love and union of male and female energies within ourselves as well as outwardly.

The union of  William to his love Kate at this auspicious time gave us a visual embodiment of these energies coming together for love and celebration and brought together communities in unity, a reflection of the old traditions.

Beltane also marks the peak of the most active earth cycle, where all things are now possible. The earth is full of potential and as such so are you as an inhabitant of this beautful planet. Everywhere life is manifesting and moving outwards into the world and now is the time to look a manifesting in your life.

The fire is traditionally at the centre of Beltane celebrations and is leapt to honour unions but also to leave behind what is no longer helping and serving you. Today maybe you would like to light a small first and (carefully please) jump it saying ‘I choose to leave behind…..’ or a ‘I pledge myself…….’

Or take a wake out into nature, thank it for its many beautiful gifts and hang a ribbon on a tree as you make a wish or blessing.

Now is the time to be clear about your direction and what you will use this growth period for. Celebrate your potential.
